In Christ Alone

IN CHRIST ALONE my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground,

In Christ alone! - who took on flesh,

we sang this hymn in church today. it hit me so hard. as i sang, every word became a prayer straight from my heart, a praise to my God and My King: our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. He is big and mighty to save. We can and should trust Him for any and everything in our lives. For He has a plan and His will shall prevail: over the powers of hell and the schemes of man. No, nothing can take me away from Him. Until Christ comes again or until He says it's my time to leave this earth, I will stand HERE IN THE POWER OF CHRIST!

God is good
i read genesis 3 yesterday. i prayed that God would reveal to me something i hadn't seen there before. He is faithful.
22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we can have eternal life. God has led us to the tree of life, to take and eat of it.
when i thought of eating of the tree of life, i thought of communion. we eat and we drink of the tree, the bread, of life. and we drink of the blood He poured out for us.
God opened my eyes to look at a passage that i've read numerous times in a different light. how the old testament relates to the new. God's revelation helps me to remember that Jesus was His plan all along.
God is good.

all i need
psalm 149 (esv) says
1 Praise the LORD!Sing to the LORD a new song,
his praise in the assembly of the godly!
2 Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
3 Let them praise his name with dancing,
making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
4 For the LORD takes pleasure in his people;
he adorns the humble with salvation.
5 Let the godly exult in glory;
let them sing for joy on their beds.
6 Let the high praises of God be in their throats
and two-edged swords in their hands,
7 to execute vengeance on the nations
and punishments on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with chains
and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 to execute on them the judgment written!
This is honor for all his godly ones.
Praise the LORD!
the psalmist says that God is honoring us by working in us: to inflict vengeance and punishment; to bind kings and nobles with fetters; to carry out His judgement on them.
when i think about what an honor that is, Almighty God displaying Himself through little ole me, it makes me want to worship Him even more.
as i'm reading through the psalms, God is teaching me a lot about honoring and praising Him. even when all is wrong and nothing is going my way, i should still praise Him, because He expects it of us. if that's the only reason i have, it's all i need. He is all i need.

While tending to his father-in-law's heard, Moses found a burning bush on Mount Horeb, the mountain of God. A burning bush that wasn't being consumed by the fire. God appeared to Moses from within the bush, telling Moses to go tell Pharaoh to let His people go. Moses asked God what he should say if Pharaoh asked him who had sent him there. God's response: "I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "
To understand the rest, we have to agree on two things:
1. God's name is I AM .
AND,
2. neither you, me, or anyone else in the universe is God.
God= IAM.
everyone & everything else: iamnot
If God IS, then we are not.
